The End. The Beginning

Margery Street Community Hall

Margery Street Community Hall reopened after a period of reconstruction, serving as the long-awaited replacement for the former community room that once operated above the garages on Margery Street.

That previous space was part of Charles Simmons House and had served the vibrant community for decades, until redevelopment began, and access was revoked, leaving local residents without a communal hub for two years and prompting the council to pledge a replacement venue

Now, in 2025, the long-promised community hall has finally reopened, fulfilling that pledge and giving residents, local groups and businesses a bright, searchable, fully accessible space to gather, host events and build community for Islington residents once again.
